Chiropractic Neurology: Benefits of Brain Based Therapies for People With Fibromyalgia
Every year millions of chronic pain sufferers receive medical care for the condition known as fibromyalgia. The current model of care for fibromyalgia sufferers has been medications that only change the way our brain perceives pain but they don’t actually fix the cause of the pain. The sufferers may perceive some pain relief but the pain always comes back and the patient is told they’ve to learn to live with their condition. So what causes fibromyalgia and what can be done about it? The term literally means pain in muscles and the soft tissues surrounding muscles, tendons, and ligaments. The cause is the part of the brain stem known as the mesencaphalon. When the Mesencephalon overfires our sympathetic/ parasympathictc system becomes out of balance. A dominance of our sympathetic system occurs and can lead to many problems some of which include:
• pain all over
• fatigue
• lack of sleep
• migraine headaches
• alternating diarrhea and constipation
• difficulty exercising
• mild to moderate depression from constant pain.
A Chiropractic Neurologist can help to treat all of these symptoms. These symptoms take place because fibromyaglia sufferers who have a high firing mesencephalon, which is the location of cranial nerves three and 4, often can have increased blood pressure and or pulse, increase chance of urinary tract infections, insomnia and a sensitivity to light. Light intolerance is caused from cranial nerve 3, which controls pupils and allow them to constrict, becomes fatigued and they dilate causing too much light to enter. An increase in firing of the mesencaphalon eventually leads to an over production of stress hormones which will cause pain fibers all over the body to become over stimulated. Chiropratic neurology is using a new approach for the treatment of fibromyalgia is known as Brain Based Therapies.
Remember to study this content very carefully, the situation and the results have many versions. These therapies which include spin therapy, unilateral chiropractic adjustments, vibration therapy, eye exercises, and oxygen therapy. These types of unique therapies also work to help the patient overcome brain fog, reduce or eliminate their headaches, and to enable the body to tolerate movement for exercise. Chiropractic Neurology can offer you Brain Based Therapies that can help a patient overcome their insomnia, and that will help them gain a decent night’s sleep. When the patient can get a decent night’s sleep, they should see an improvement in chronic fatigue as well.

Reason for sore muscles without even working out? The past few days I’ve woken up with sore muscles in my lower back and in my calves (like I had ran miles the day before) and every morning the pain and soreness has increased. I hadn't done any exercising or anything strenuousness before this.Does anyone know what this could be from? Could stress cause me to tense my muscles while I sleep, or cause this sort of discomfort at all?
Is there a corelation between fibromyalgia and the consuming of carbonated soft drinks? If I've got fibromyalgia (I think I do) I suspect my diet has something to do with it (prehaps other things too). If I do have fibromyalgia, carbonated soft drinks heads my list as a possible contributor to it and/or with cafeine as a runner up and/or equal to it? Is there a corelation with either or both if they’re taken together in a can or bottle of soda pop? Thank you for any helpful input because it’s getting painful. Ed
