Can anyone tell me what happens when you visit a pain management specialist? My GP has already taken xrays and MRI's, done bloodwork to test for rheumetological disorders and for lupus and fibromyalgia with no success. He's been treating me for nearly a year now and next week I see a pain management specialist because I’ve very sharp pains in my hips, knees and ankles. There's also throbbing pain in my lower back, shins and thighs. I look like a monkey walking around all scrunched up because even my own weight is too mych for my legs to handle.

They’ll have you walk so they can see how you do it. They’ll check how flexible your joints are. They’ll check for tender points for Fibromylagia. You’ll have to fill out some paper work that asks things about drug abuse history in your family and self. What medictions you have tried. Then they’ll probably make you go to Physical Therapy, see a psychiatrist, and give you some medicine that will make you feel sick rather than smething to stop the pain. I hope you have better luck with your pain management doctor than I did. If they want to put you on a Fentynal patch I'll tell you right now it doesn't help and it has only caused me to have a head ache. Oh yeah and they’ll drug test you.
