Can reflexology techniques help fibromyalgia pain? My boyfriend has fibro and gets really bad pains in his arms, lungs, and heart area. I know some reflexology to soothe those areas in the hands and feet. Would I be able to help him this way? If not, does anyone have any techniques that WOULD work? I hate to see him in pain, I just want to make him feel better :(

Controlled studies of acupuncture have shown nothing more than a placebo effect…but scientists have been known to fudge the data to prove themselves right..so who knows reflexology is said to have an effect on the nervouse system..and real fms is a problem with the neuro system.. I doubt it would work, but i doubt it would cause harm so try it f you want to. The first thing you need to do is make sure he was accurately diagnosed research many websites…make sure he was screened for all other possible conditions and his symptoms really match. Most docs use it as a general label for pain they’ll say the pain of a spinal deformity is fms–thats false..its not fms unless the brain is involved too..and the pain isn't only from the spinal deformatity fms is highly over diagnosed by these incompetant docs

Pain Meds For Fibromyalgia? I’ve been on Tramadol for Fibromyalgia for years now. My Fibro is getting worse every year. I’m up to six to eight Tramadol a day. I think my body is getting immuned to it. I want to switch pain meds for a while to see if it works better than what I’m taking now. Talking to most doctors is useless when it comes to giving out pain meds. Up until the Lyrica TV commericials, most doctors didn't believe Fibro was real. I tried Pain Management doctors and they’re a waste in my opinion. I’ve been buying Tramadol online. Does anyone know of any pharamacy web sites that sell real Vicodin without a script from a doctor? I know some sites claim to have a doctor that can give out a script for pain meds.

You can't Buy Vicodin Online. It’s illegal! And most likely it wouldn’t be real! I use Soma Watson Brand Muscle Relaxants and Tramadol for Fibromyalgia Pain. Carisoprodol is the generic. Soma is used to treat pain and stiffness. I also use an online pharmacy for both they’re in the US and ONLY sell FDA approved Medicines! I hope you learn to manage the pain you suffer from as i do and DONT become addicted to pain medicines! Hope you feel better Dear!

Keep searching for a pain management doctor that’s a good one, there are a lot of bad ones out there. Make sure he's a neurologist. I've had both bad and good PM dr's. I can't condone online pharmacies as there is no telling what you’re actually buying. You may think you're getting vicodin but you have no idea what else has been added to the pills as they’re not regulated by the FDA. You can also be ripped off by online pharmacies who will take your money and run. Keep searching for the right doctor.

I’ve Fibromyalgia -Vitamin D3 supplementation has cleared the constant muscle pain (for the most part). I did high levels for three weeks & was pain free. I knocked the dose down to 2000iu's a day & a week later the pain was back. After restarting high levels, the pain is managed again after three days. I personally did 35,000iu per day for two months trying to refill my stores. It’s highly recommended that you have your vit.D levels tested but my research shows toxicity only at outrageous, long term levels. I originally did B12 injections daily for a couple of years & then I tried guaifenesin (Dr.St.Amand's protocol) for ten years but discovered vit.D3 supplementation only recently & that has worked better than anything else! Vitamin D3 is not a vitamin at all but a necessary hormone that effects the immune system & nearly every aspect of health. Having low Vitamin D levels greatly increases risk of cancer, heart disease, diabetes, MS (& maybe even FMS) I don't think that FMS, cancer, MS, etc. Is a vitamin deficiency but being deficient can create or greatly exacerbate health problems. The prescription vitamin D supplements are the wrong type (ergocalciferol ). As warned by the National Institute of Health – Luckily you can buy vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) over the counter and the upper limits are extremely high. Current recommendations are for 35iu per pound – a 150# person needs minimum of 5250iu per day & the rda is 400iu. This amount is for minimal needs and doesn’t account for depleted stores. March is when stores are at their lowest. Vitamin D3 deficiency is becoming an epidemic. U.S. RDA are much too low. It’s possible that upper atmosphere pollution is blocking the needed UVB light from the sun. I also highly recommend a low carb way of eating to allow the body to regenerate rather than degenerate. Dr. Joe Prendergast, an endocrinologist /diabetologist has managed over 1500 diabetic patients and, in the last decade, not one of his patients has had a stroke or heart attack. Only one has even been hospitalized! His secret50,000 units of Vitamin D3 daily. Dr. Joe further reports: * Reversal of advanced coronary disease * Reversal of advanced lung disease, avoiding a lung transplant! * Cure of multiple sclerosis * Cure of amotrophic lateral sclerosis * Regression of rheumatoid arthritis * Improvement in allergies * Control of many cancers including prostate, breast, colon, brain tumors, leukemia, myeloma, etc * Reversal of osteoporosis * Prevention of influenza * Cure of depression and many other mental disorders * Hashimotos hyperthyroidism In summary, the evidence for safety and remarkable efficacy of Vitamin D3 suggests that virtually ALL adults should probably take 50,000 units of D3 daily. This is certainly true for those with virtually any illness.

I’ve Fibro (along with other issues as well), and I can tell you that it can take a lot of time, patience, and trial and error to find both medications and physicians that are a good fit. Most primary care doctors these days will pass you off to a pain management doctor/clinic once they come to the conclusion that you have chronic pain. This is usually not because they don't care, or don't want to take the time, but prescribing pain medications has become such a liability issue for them….the DEA can come in and raid their office at any time. I’ve a great doctor, and he was prescribing my medications for years, but just recently, sent me to a new PM doctor, who took over all of my treatment. Please keep looking for a pain management doctor who’s willing to prescribe meds that will truly help. What helped with me was having a good talk with my doctor about where I was at with my treatment, how it was affecting me, and what I would want ideally in terms of pain management. I didn't say “I want this med or that one” but rather, what effects I wanted to avoid, that I wanted to take as little medication as possible, and what goals I wanted to achieve with treatment. It seemed to make a big difference. Also, depending on where you live, there are some Fibromyalgia specialists around. As someone else said, buying meds online is sketchy. You don't know if what you’re getting is the real deal, if it's expired, or if they truly have “doctors” writing their scripts. It's also highly illegal, and from what I’ve read recently, the DEA is making a huge crackdown on these types of sites. I would really hate to see you get caught up in some sort of sting for just trying to obtain relief. It took me 3 tries to find a pain management doctor that I'm really happy with. The first one made me cry, the second one only wanted to do expensive injections and procedures, but the new one I was just sent to is great. He takes care of all of my meds, yet does talk with me about different procedures that could help. If you can, and know anyone else with chronic pain, ask around to see if there is a doctor who others think is good, and who’s willing to prescribe more than just Tramadol. You’re taking a lot per day, and it's clear it's not working for you! Good luck!
